More expressions featuring Nixxie's and my baby BLU, Milo.
I didn't feel that this needed to be coloured completely. Eventually I will make a true reference sheet for him, but for now, have a bunch of faces.
Let me explain some reasons as to the style Milo is drawn in. Milo is a 4 month old clone of the RED Medic. This being so, he's innocent and childlike. However, Milo's age was accelerated during the cloning process, giving him the body of a mature adult male. If it weren't for his personality almost always shining through, Milo would be identical to Yosef Heilburg, the RED Medic. I have chosen to draw Milo in an exaggerated small form most of the time to symbolize his brain's youth. It should be noted that while this is so, his environment is only slightly aware of his shifting between sizes as most of the time it is only done as a guide to the viewer that he is being silly, cute, curious, or going through some other heightened emotional reaction that looks the most fun in the small style.
Milo, in a way, is to be pitied. His body is mature, but his mind is still very undeveloped. He was literally a boy forced to become a man. He experiences both adult and childish emotive responses to situation. (An example is his feelings towards his live-in nurse, Molly. Or his delight in following Yosef around like a puppy.) He belongs neither to the world of children nor to the world of adults. This makes dealing with him as a character most perplexing. Yosef doesn't bother shielding him from mature concepts or situations, but not out of any negative design he might have for the clone. The Team is merely settling on a way to handle him, and as Milo appears as an adult to them, they often act relaxed around him. Lucky for Milo, Yosef is also incredibly protective towards him. It has taken time, but RED Medic is starting to feel a father-son bond with Milo.
As the story progresses, I see Milo less and less as the small bodied figure I draw him now in, and more an adult growing up all over again.
